Prepping for Pick Up?

Hey guys, I hope I'm posting this in a relevant section.

I'm planning to trade hens with someone 3-5 hours away. He's coming here to swap tomorrow. Is there anything I should do to prepare my hen for the trip?

I recommend that you Quarantine the new birds away from your other birds for several weeks to make sure they are healthy.

Thanks. I know about quarantine, and already have something set up. I'm asking about MY bird, if there's anything I should do for her, that will make the trip to her new home easier. I was thinking I might restrict food for a few hours before her pick up, so she doesn't poo all over her box, or would that be worse?

I don't think it really matters. I don't do anything different with animals getting ready to be transported, unless it's something like a dog I know gets carsick--he don't get to eat!

I think you should take two, it is very difficult for a single hen to be accepted into a new flock
