Pressure canning help please!!

Yes I have the Blue book and the Complete Book of Home Preserving along with several others. Have the site marked with the latest processing times as well.

I grew up canning darn near everything so I'm fairly well versed, was just hoping this one recipe was something I could do. Oh well. I've just been afraid to pressure can by myself in the last 4 years without access to a family member for 'moral' support. You get that way when you watch your grandmother blow up a canner or two

I would leave out the barley, add it later when you are going to eat it, It's not safe to can. you can always cook some and add to it after you open it, why risk it... canning can be fun and a great way to save money and waste less food, but keep it safe.
