Welcome to the prettier chicken challenge. I am the judge, call me Fairy (not that I like them, is my username). I love chickens, and love seeing other people’s chickens. So, I thought I would post this about prettiest chickens. Tell their backstory too.

Is that a Sumatra in your profile pic? He/she is gorgeous! Once I am able to post pics I’ll do my Australorp; she has wry tail but her feathers both shimmer and have tiny sparkles in them Can we post chicks as well?

Adults or chicks. I was told it’s a Ayam cemani.

Here’s one of my other pretty ones. His name is Cookie Crumbles.

I caught him from the neighbors house. I never knew they were so neglected and unhappy. He had scaly mites and many scratches. I put petroleum jelly on it, and gave him medicine. He got one cup of food a day that he had to share with seventeen other chickens. There were three hens, the rest boys. They would come in groups at a time all fighting over the three girls. Now that I have him he doesn’t wanna go back. Even when I did let him out, he walked back into the cage. The owner doesn’t even notice he’s gone. He is now super happy and the tamest of them all!

The picture of him was when I first got him, and you can see part of his feet. It was so bad his spurs were eaten off!

Oh my word, that’s awful! Thank you for rescuing him! Are all of the others in tha condition too? He is gorgeous, though! I love his name.

No only him. The Ayam Cemanis were sorta a rescue. The “girl” had a swollen, scabbed, bleeding ear. I healed that, and did bumble foot surgery on her foot at home (yes it was scary) but now she is in perfect health. I got her from a pet store.

Idk how people can even stand to treat living creatures like that. We are supposed to be stewards, not neglect-tors. (?)

This is Stubby, my most skittish rooster. I raised him as a one day old. He is now two years old.

This is my Cornish cross Pancake. She is also two, and is Stubbies girlfriend. I raised them together. I am attempting to hatch her eggs.

This is Cannon, I raised her as a one day old (She is my favorite duck and the noisiest). She is three months.

This is my boy runt Sailor. He is about three months, one week younger than Cannon. He is also the quietest.

This is Pumpkin Pie. He is not a runt. He is three month old I think, one week younger than Cannon.

This was supposed to be a golden comet, I guess not. She is as old as Cannon. Her name is Mystery.

This IS my golden Comet. He/she is as old as Cannon also. It’s name is Picasso.

This is my white silkie Westie. He lives in the western part of my world, lol.

And, last but not least, Wildfire. She is a RIR. She is the most skittish but is very pretty.
