Pretty sure this is a rooster but need confirmation

Hi,

I have 6 new chicks. Various breeds. The one in the photo already has a nice red top. Thinking he is a roo. Or maybe just a hen? I haven't heard him/her make noise except the peeps.

Perhaps a cockerel, but it is really too early to gender ID with any degree of accuracy.

Waaay too early to tell! Enjoy the peeps while they last - if it's indeed a rooster he'll make plenty of noise later on ))

How old? Cockerels are never as noisy as the pullets at this age.

How old?

So far, there's no obvious patchiness of plumage coloration that would indicate cockerel.
