Our 100% hatch of Welsummers has yielded, apparently, just one boy. Are we right? Here he is versus some of his sisters (

)... he's the one with puny wings and no tail. His head stripe is also smaller.

I vote it is too young for a accurate sexing unless you vent sexed it.. wait until about 4-5 months if it's not obvious before-hand.
 
I've noticed that from the sexed chicks that I have gotten from Ideal Poultry (three diff orders), ALL the females ALWAYS grow their tail feathers first, before the males.
 
My Wellie boys had their combs at a few days old. Not much of one, but a big difference from the females. Mine weren't hatchery chicks, though, so I don't know if that makes a difference. I bought 10 and guessed that 2 were roos, and that is exactly what I got.
