I'm toally new to this. I'm selling a Lav Orp roo tomorrow and I have no idea how to price him, or the hen that is going with him.

What should I consider in pricing? Age? What I paid for him as a chick/8weeker? Color? Health? Temperment? Size/weight? Uses? Breeding worthy?

I told the lady that wants him I'd take $15 for him. Is that too high or too low?

How old is he? Age does play a role in price as well as breeding quality. Did you get him from a breeder or a hatchery?

15 is the average for Lavender Orp roos around here.

Ok, good. He's about 8 mos, very hearty, healthy, a good providor/protector. I got him from a local breeder; he's a product of her breeding program.

I have a pair, and I told her $15 for him and $25 for the pair. She's excited to get them, so I guess that's a fair price. I'm happy bc I posted that he may even end up free to a good flock. There's nothing wrong with him, he's just beating up our pet/favorite hen. No mounting, just brutal pecking. If he were mounting her, I'd keep him ;)
