Probably a silly question about preening.

My chickie has been getter her feathers in and so she's been preening an awful lot. I vacuum several times a day, she's a house chicken, to keep down on the "chick dust", but i've notices that she will sometimes peck at and eat some of her own chick dust. This is usually when the vacuum comes out and she just looks at me like, "I wasn't done with that, yet, ma."

Is this normal? Has anyone else come across this?

Okay. Thank you! She's happy and healthy, and runs arond the house. She's great in every other way, I just wasn't a hundred percent on eating her feather dust...

But I guess I shouldn't worry, if she's not displaying any signs of anything else

They run their beaks down each feather when they are oiling. They get the oil from the uropygial gland on their tail and that is how they keep them nice. I don't know why she would do this during vacuuming.. bump
