I got my first flock of 6 hens about 5 months ago. A few weeks ago they’ve started laying and most have done a pretty good job of laying right in the nesting boxes. My problem is my black Australorp. I have a camera in the coop so I can check in on them occasionally. About a week or two ago I caught her eating an egg! It was just one and ever since I’ve been collecting the eggs several times each day and watching her closely. While she hasn’t eaten another egg, she won’t leave the boxes alone! She is in an out all day scratching around in the like she would scratch outside, kicking around the ceramic decoy eggs and knocking all the pine shavings out. I have no idea how to get her to leave them alone and she’s even scaring the others off with her antics. Help!

OhBoy....have had this problem.
First tho, is she laying yet?
Newly laying pullets can make a real mess of the nests until they are in the groove with the laying thing.
Or she may be looking for a 'free meal'.
What all and how exactly are you feeding?
