Processer in FL?

Hoping this is the right area to post this question.

Are there any poultry processers in Northern Florida? My brother lives in the Gainesville area and was wishing to put on some meat birds..... he was hoping there was a processer near by to take the birds when it comes time for freezer camp.

Grateful for any help.

I don't know for sure, but I can tell you there aren't any in NorthWEST Florida!!!

But I learned how to do it with the help of another BYC buddy in my area. How many birds is he looking at doing?

He should check his local Yellow Pages under the headings for Butchers, and Poultry, and ask at his local feed store - usually those guys "know people", even if it's just some guy that raises chickens and kills them himself, he might be willing to process the roos for a fee or a share of the meat. I know a guy at a local hatchery that gives his buddy 8 roos and gets back 4 carcasses, plucked, cleaned and dressed.

Commercial broiler production in Florida is slowly heading for extinction. If there's a processor anywhere in the state I haven't heard of one and I've been looking for several years. Sure wish there was.
