I have too many chicks and I will need to cull about 6 of them in about 8 weeks or sooner. Does anyone know of a Place near Dallas TX I can have them slaughtered as I can't do that in town? If you dont know of a place, where would I begin to look to find such a place?
Thanks!

My wife will butcher chickens in our kitchen she will hold the chicken upside down by the legs take the head up to the legs so that the neck is exposed and with a sharp cleaver slice the neck and bleed it in a bowl. Of all the chickens she has culled only one has ever given her trouble and that was a large Brahma. She will warm some water and dip the bird in it and the feathers come out very easy. You don’t need much room and it doesn’t take long once you slice the throat. She will clean the internal organs with I believe a salt and oil solution.

Hayes Farms in Rendon will do them. They are north of Mansfield. If you e-mail I can give directions. They charge $1 per bird.
