I weeded out my less favorable parts of my flock and that included a khaki campbell and a white pekin duck. I've only done chickens before, so I'm unfamiliar with butchering ducks. I noticed that the ducks smelled really bad inside. I have noticed that chickens tend to have that dirty animal smell when you dunk them before plucking, but this was way worse. They smelled basically like duck poop inside. I did not rupture anything that would cause that to be inside. Is this normal? Am I just not used to it because it was my first time?
