Production red

Hello,new here to the site.i got some production red chicks from tsc a couple months ago but they have a lot of white feathers ,any ideas

Hi

Glad you could join the flock! Your reds look quite normal and they will fill out with more colour as they age. The whole feather will probably not be all red in colour. When I had mine towards the bottom of the feather was more a white colour. Mine also varied in the darkness of the red, I had one very dark red and one a little lighter with white tail tips.

Good luck with your reds, they are super laying machines. Be sure to ask any other questions that you may have around the forums there really is a section for everything.

ETA - confusion on my part with production and sex link. I had sex link I they did fill out in colour.

Thanks for the reply,I also got six Rhode Island reds out of straight run tub,I think 4 or 5 are roosters.

I think your bird is actually a Red Sexlink pullet.
