Prolapse - What to do?

Minnie Guinea died yesterday

Her protrusion went in & stayed in, so I was hopeful. But she must have had some unseen internal damage from which she could never have recovered. Yesterday she was standing quietly in the hospital cage, continuing to tip over her water dish but not eating. I took her out, thinking she was pining for her sisters & her liberty. But it was apparant that she was declining.

I told my 9-year-old son, so he could have a chance to hold her one last time and say his good-byes. I even got a chance to take a few photos of them together. Then when I put her back in the cage, she had some sort of spasm, & died. We buried her between a mango & a banana tree, so she could help them grow.

I'm sorry to hear about Minnie... I'm following this thread since I've got a hen in my hospital that is prolapsed right now. I can imagine how you and your son feel... RIP Minnie...
