Hi guys. My sister in law just came to get me when she noticed her nearly 2 year old SLW had a bloody looking back end. We took a look and a meaty/bloody hunk was hanging off of some vent feathers. Her vent itself looks fine however the top "lip" of the vent looks stretched out. Is that a tiny prolapse? Is there any way it was a lash egg and is and us she at any risk of a larger prolapse? I wasn't able to take any pictures she's very flighty and stressed out. I cleaned her up, is there anything else I can do. Thank you.

Yes, I will try!
I just always find my chickens much easier to handle at night in the dark. I have a head lamp with a red light option. Chickens don't fuss much because they don't see well in red light and it enables me to work with my hands free.
