When I was looking at one of my hens that has been missing quite a bit of feathers (although they are starting to grow back, thank goodness) I noticed she all of a sudden had a prolapsed vent. I got very worried and started feeling around to see if she was egg bound. She did not feel egg bound and seconds later pushed out a firmer poop. She then pulsed a few times and then everything went back into her vent.
Is this normal? I have attached a picture of when she was prolapsed. Please note again it went back inside and looked completely normal afterwards.
