Prolapsed Vent

Tips for a prolapsed vent in a 4 year old laying hen?

She’s prolapsed before, but I was able to clean her up and reinsert the prolapse and eventually it stayed in. I can’t get the prolapse reinserted this time.
She’s had an epsom soak, calcium (she laid yesterday, I don’t feel an egg but you never know), and cortisone in an attempt to shrink the tissue. Anything else I can try? She has a vet appointment on Tuesday if I can’t get it to stay in.
She’s isolated inside and pissed as hell because I pulled her out of free range to mess with her. Perfectly fine except for the prolapse.

Honey or sugar applied to the vent could help to shrink it. Of course, keep the red tissue from drying out. The honey or an ointment would be good. Did you mean hydrocortisone cream or gel? That can also help to shrink it. If a picture might help of her vent that might be good.

Thank you, it’s hydrocortisone cream but I can see if I can find a gel. Manuka honey, correct?
No ics, she’s currently pissed at me for interrupting her free range time

You can use regular honey or even sugar with a drop or two of water made into a gel. The cream is fine, and they also make an ointment, but it just depends on what you can get. It can take a few days for the prolapse to go back inside. Hopefully there is not an egg, but it does happen occasionally.

Stupid question, can she go outside with a honey covered butt and not attract flies? She’s really pissed being inside
