Prolased penis

Help. I was just given a duck, and he has a prolasped penis. I am not sure how long it has been this way. I have read about cutting the protruding part off, but I am not sure as to when I should. What will it look like when it is dried and ready to be cut? Very new to this. He is happy and healthy otherwise.

You may not have to cut anything if the tissue is still alive.

Give him time in a lukewarm tub of water - like, at least half an hour - an hour would be better.

Keep him away from females, and somewhere relatively clean where no one else will be pecking at his misfortune.

You may want to try some kind of lubricant (without painkiller), I am not sure what product to recommend. When my snake had a prolapse, I used KY jelly.
