PROSO?????

I grew a plot of it one time when I had access to a large garden plot and the chickens loved it. I just cut the stalks and threw it in their run.

At one time, proso millet was the only millet grown for seed in the US.

I believe that today, it is the primary millet seed found in wild birdseed mixes and comprises about one-third of some mixes. Therefore, most anyone who has fed wild birdseed mixes to their chickens has fed proso millet along with a few other seeds to their flocks.
