How do you figure protein levels if you mix your feed? Grower 21% and my soy feed is 32% i think. While the soy is to hot to feed on its own how would i figure a half soy half grower protein %?

Quote:
21 (the protein amount of the grower) ÷ 100 (always divide by 100) = .21% protein per pound
32 (the protein amount of the soy)÷ 100 (always divide by 100) = .32% protein per pound

.21 (the per pound protein percentage of the grower) x 50 (the amount of pounds that you are going to use) = 10.50 (the amount of protein per 50 pounds)
.32 (the per pound protein percentage of the soy) x 50 (the amount of pounds that you are going to use) = 16.0 (the amount of protein per 50 pounds)

10.50 (the protein amount of grower being used) + 16.0 (the protein amount of soy being used) = 26.50% Protein

For simple recipes you can use parsons square. You can use it for multiple ingredients too, just enter one set at a time.

The correct way to calculate a mix of multiple sources of protein or fiber, etc is to use weighted averages.

Corn 9% X 50 lbs = 450
Soybean 36% X 25 lbs = 900
Oats 12% X 10 lbs = 120
------------------------
Total 85 1470

Mix Protein level is 1470 / 85 = 17.29%
