Protein in Diet

There are a number of posts/suggestions regarding feed and protein. We have layer feed but usually are fairly generous with table scraps. How does that affect eggs or the chicken? My wife is saying that the egg whites when cooked are soft.

Hello there. Table scraps r not so good in my opinion for the hens to feed them all the time. Thay need a good layer feed with 17percent of protein in it for a good healthy grow and good egg production. I feed my chickens scraps just as a treat. They love it of course but I provide a layer feed for them as a primary everyday food source. They r healthy and happy girls. One of them is laying eggs like crazy 11 in a row and she is taking one day off. She is a star
