A few months ago I added a rooster to my flock. I did not have one before just hens. He was a young rooster and he was here for over a month before we heard him start to crow. After a few weeks of that I wanted to see if he was doing his job. So I opened a few eggs and compared them to the pictures in the "How can you tell if they are Fertile" Thread The looked good to me. So 3 weeks ago I saw one of my hens was acting broody and did not to leave the nesting box.So I marked 3 eggs and let her sit on them. I checked them often and I candled them twice once at one week and once at two weeks.I still was not sure. So today (day 21) I go to check on her and I see one little face looking at me. I moved her and saw another little face:D.So I have 2 brand new hours old chickes.. So I want to know do I need to move them inside to a brooder? There are 6 hens out there and a rooster might they harm them? Also they have no easy access to food and water will the hen feed them? I really do not want to keep them outside without water it is very hot here Thanks
