How many of you would suggest a trimming of the feathers right under the vent because mine are getting a little poopy and I'm not sure if I should trim them or not what do y'all think

When I find poopy feathers on rear ends, the first thing I do is check to see when they were wormed?

Usually it has been long enough time that I need to worm them again.

I remove all the poopy feathers. In the summer hens can get fly strike in poopy feathers.

I use SAFEGUARD for sheep. 1/2 cc per chicken. Repeat in 10 days. Do not eat any eggs until 2 weeks after the second dose. Throw away the eggs don't feed them to any thing.

This is when I save the eggs for blowing them out for crafts.

How do you 'remove' the dirty feathers? Pluck them? Cut with scissors....close to skin or halfway or....?????
