Normally I wouldn't share this with the BYC community, but this one's big and I'm sure there are MANY members who have had to use ticketmaster to purchase concert tickets.
https://www.cyberdaily.au/security/...nation-data-breach-more-than-500m-compromised
Synopsis:
A known hacking group has shared details of a massive hack and data theft from Ticketmaster/Livenation of over 560 million users. The payload includes credit card details as well as user personal data like name/address/phone. Ticketmaster has not formally confirmed the breach or if the data is legit yet, but right now signs point to yes.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
For now, nothing. Wait for a formal confirmation and monitor activity around any payment method you have used for Ticketmaster. Report anything suspicious to your card issuer.
Once there's a bit more detail, it may be time to cancel and re-issue any card you may have used. I would not make a purchase on ticketmaster/livenation's website with any NEW payment method until they can verify they have resolved the issue and your data is again safe.
