I was at the farm supply store yesterday (great sale on chick starter, laying crumbles and scratch grain 50lb bags for $7.97) and of course I had to spend time looking at the chicks. They had a homemade chicken coop (right next to the chicks) about 4 feet by 6 feet or so for $699, it was very well made, Iwill say that for it. It was the type with the nesting and roosting areas elivated and the run below. There was a man and his son looking it over and finally called a salesperson over and told the salesperson they wanted to purchase it. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut, didn't want to ruin the sale for the business. I was thinking for $700-900 you could buy a shed from one of those prefab places, I know my 6 x 8 brooder is one and I think I got mine 3 years ago for about $650 on sale. Then if down the road you don't want chickens you still have a shed.
Oh well, there money.
Thought I'd share.
