She is sitting on 15 eggs and I have not seen any evidence that she had been off to eat.drink and poo.she is a big girl and I had to take her off very carefully so as not to break any of her eggs.if you ever lifted a broody they are totally limp.i sat her down in front of her water and food.she drink and ate and did her big poo.i left her alone.and she was making all kinds of noises

.my husband ask me what in the world is wrong with her.I told her she is hormonal.

That's interesting because my broody wasn't getting off the nest to drink or poo either. I let her out to free range yesterday and she went right for the water and then did a giant broody poop in the lawn. Is that normal for them to have to be coaxed like that? And I can't believe the strange noises coming from her. She's very agitated. Poor thing. ;)

I have one persistant Silkie hen that is just like your hen. Many hens are like this and can lose weight so if I don't see them leaving the nest atleast once a day I take them off. They ususally do their business and start eating and getting a drink.
