Hi, I'm fairly new to this group and I have 12 week old pullet that is eating and drinking but limping and not up and walking around much. i separated her with her own feed and water and she's acting fine otherwise but just won't stand straight up on her legs. She was fine yesterday. I noticed her this morning. I've read through many of the posts but didn't see anything exactly like this. I have 43 chickens. A few are Easter Eggers, but most are various breeds of orpington, and they are mostly hatched this past spring so all but 6 are young. She's an Easter Egger. I'll try to get a picture of her later today

PIctures might help, but sprains and strains are not uncommon. Keep an eye on her, make sure she continues to eat and drink, she may improve with time. Depending on what happened it can some times take weeks, or even months for full recovery, but often it can be quicker than that. You can also give a super B complex tablet or capsule once daily, 1/4 to 1/2 of it orally. You can grind or empty and sprinkle on some moistened feed for her to eat it. And some vitamin E, 400 iu, for a week or so. Use human ones you can get at any pharmacy. The B's can be continued as long as needed, the E should not be done that long. Let her rest, see if she improves. If something changes for the worse, let us know.

Thank you. She has injured herself, but there is no swelling anywhere and her feet and legs look fine. I've separated her and she is eating and drinking. When she tries to get up and walk she flops around and can't manage that at all, so we'll see how she does and if she can heal from whatever happened. Thanks again.
