Pullet not laying at 7-8 months

Hi,

I have a mixed breed pullet (no waddle so possibly part americauna) who is pushing 8 months and still not laying eggs. Is that normal? My other hen that I got at the same time has been laying for a couple of months. I don't think they are actually related, but came from the same farm and were about the same size when I got them.

Any insight or advice is welcome.

This time of year with diminishing day length it is perfectly normal. If you want eggs from her now add about 3 or 4 hours of light to the coop. She should kick in a week or 2 later.
