He would have looked pretty as an adult based on his juvenile color and pattern. Sorry you lost him. I've had my share of predators running off with my juvenile chicks last summer.

I was really looking forward to how he would look. A hawk ate two of his hatch mates, his mom and his dad. Everyone is in a covered run now otherwise I don't think I would have any left by spring!

Oh geez. I hate that when that happens. I had a hawk incident a month ago and thought I lost a hen.
I found her after 4 hours later, she was hiding under the coop which I didn't look for. Her wing got damaged but it's good now.
