As she didn't do a flush, and the feathers didn't come out (and the bird lived) I'd suspect it was something more like mycotoxins.

I'm glad you mentioned the mushrooms actually. As it might have been mycotoxins, there might be an additional need for oil soluble vitamins for the need week as mycotoxins interferes with the body's ability to absorb them temporarily.

It never hurts with these birds to supplement those vitamins in a good liquid/oil type supplement at best, powdered in the water at least. I'd do for one week after symptoms disappear, and then taper off.

I'm glad you pointed this out, walkingwolf. Thank you!

You know, I didnt mention it, but her feathers DID come out. Not all of them, but they were easily pulled out and she lost quite a bit.

Mushrooms however, are a distinct possibility as there were mushrooms sprouting up all over the place.

Would the mushrooms cause her to burn with fever and her comb and wattles to become brilliant red?

I am not letting the flock out again.. not for a while anyway. They have a nice big run and no matter how they strectch their little necks out and beg me... they are staying in for the time being!

If her feathers were easily pulled out, then it was very likely botulism. That's the sign that can be used to field diagnose, all other symptoms being present. It's unique to botulism.

WOW, she's lucky. When they get that far, they often don't recover! Good job on your care!
