I have moved my pullets outside into the coop. They are about 5-6 weeks old and feathered. I have noticed that they seem to prefer to pile up in the nest boxes rather than use even the low roosts.

Is this a bad habit to let them get into or will they naturally start to use the roosts as they get older? Should I remove the straw from the nest boxes so the floor of the coop below the rests is more comfortable than the nest boxes?

Block off the nest box. Bad habits can be hard to break. You don't want poopie nest boxes and poopie eggs in your future.

i took the nest buckets off. thanks
