So weird. I have 8 pullets that until this week wanted to be outside in their 12X12 roofed sand run all day long, they never went into the coop during the day even if it was pouring out.
All of a sudden mid day they are going into the coop for hours, just to hang out. The weather is beautiful, not too hot, breezy etc.
They also have an attached outdoor grass space that I only let them in when I'm in the yard to supervise because I have a family of hawks nearby. They LOVE the grass and I've tried coaxing them out with the open grass and they will initially come out take a few bites and all decide to go back in the coop.
What the heck is going on? One should be ready to lay sometime in the next few weeks and the other 7 are a month behind her. Could they just be checking out the nest boxes?
When I go and spy on them they are just laying down or scratching the floor being totally like "why are you staring at us mom, we are fine". Is this normal?
