Pullets wait for spring?

Good morning. I asked this question before but nobody answered so I’m going to give it a whirl again. If pullets come of age in October will they wait til spring to lay their first eggs because of the short days?
Depends on the breed. Some will wait until spring and some will lay through the winter depending on the type of shelter and nest boxes they have. My easter eggers are coming to age in a week and will start laying soon. But may wait until spring. I have a nice warm coop with comfy nest boxes they like to go into so I may get some end of this month beginning of next month.

I have some now but I haven't raised pullets in a long time. When I was looking into it, I contacted a long time breeder who told me, that when they hit laying age in the winter, they will lay all winter long. That's what his do anyway. I am not sure of the breed that he has though.
