Lay. Not pay.I’m in the same boat - waiting to see if my pullets from June 21 hatch will pay or not. I’ve got a speckled Sussex, barnevelder, blue Cochin, silver laced Wyandotte, and a polish.
That could also be pay as in *pay the rent.*Lay. Not pay.
Depends on the breed. Some will wait until spring and some will lay through the winter depending on the type of shelter and nest boxes they have. My easter eggers are coming to age in a week and will start laying soon. But may wait until spring. I have a nice warm coop with comfy nest boxes they like to go into so I may get some end of this month beginning of next month.Good morning. I asked this question before but nobody answered so I’m going to give it a whirl again. If pullets come of age in October will they wait til spring to lay their first eggs because of the short days?
I’m dying over here. so far this little ladies have been a bunch of free loaders! Get it together gals! That could also be pay as in *pay the rent.*
