I have a chicken that was used as a toy from one of my foster puppies that escaped the kennel, he must have pulled it through the fence as it was walking by. It seems whole and really no feather damage, but it looks like their is a puncture right through her left ear. I put peroxide on it and vasoline to cover it up. Its been two days and she is eating driking and mostly hanging out with the group but she keeps her feathers puffed up and lays down alot. She is about 6 weeks old. Can anyone tell me if I shuld be concerned? Thanks so much, Katie

That poor chicken! I was so sad when I read that she was used as a toy. That's horrible! :( At least she's in a better place now. I'm no expert, but make sure she keeps on eating and drinking. It's usually not good when a chicken lays down all the time and her featehrs are puffed up, but let's just hope she's just tired. Make sure there are no other wound marks on her. It is a good sign that she's eating and drinking though. Hang on to that piece of hope. Best of luck. Sorry, I'm not an expert. I wish I could help you more.

I was livid! My son said I sounded like I had a thousand voices. It took me everything I had not to call the rescue and tell them I would no longer foster the dog. She was the first one to the food tray this afternoon but I saw great disappointment on her face when she realized I had no mealworms. Hopefully ghats a god sign, but she is def acting different.

Shes back to running and being as sassy as ever! And that puppy got adopted, so problem solved. Thanks for caring I'm sure she appreciated the support! ;)

yay!!! I'm so happy!!

Thanks for letting me know how she's doing. And no problem, a sweet little chicken like her deserves all the care she can get :)
