There is no real way for any bird to develop immunity to CRD, other than keeping them super healthy with strong immune systems so that if they are exposed, they do not contract it. If they have it, they are carriers, so even if they do not get sick again, they can make other birds ill.

I don't recall if the CRD vaccination makes them carriers or not; some vaccines do, depending on the type used.
