Pure Ameraucana?

Hi there,

I’m looking to purchase a new Ameraucana rooster and found this guy online. The lady said she was told that he was pure when she got him, but I’m not very experienced and have some doubts. His wattles look kinda big to me and she said he had frostbite on his “tips” and lost them. Indicating his comb is not correct either?

No. He has a dubbed comb…probably to make him look pure. But he’s got the wrong comb type. So no, not pure.

It doesn’t look frostbitten to me - that’s precise dubbing IMO.

I have some frost bitten combs that look that precise. It can happen.

Yup. It could be frostbite, but IMO it looks too “precise.” Either way, his comb’s been modified, and was originally a single comb.
