not sure if this is the right place for this question, and i know my title isn't very helpful, but i have a kind of random question.
when breeding chickens, are you supposed to breed within a color as well as a breed to be considered pure? for example, do you only breed Buff Orpingtons to other Buffs or do you breed them with Blue or whatever other colors Orpingtons come in?
i used to breed rabbits (and will be again) and i know from them that there are some breeds that you breed within a color and others where it isn't as important (i believe New Zealands tend to be kept within a color, but with Jersey Woolies you can more or less breed any colors together).
