Purenna Flock Block?

Hi all! I have seven heavy breed chickens and I used to let them free range in the yard for a good part of the day, but now I am back to work and it is dark when I get home and also my hens have been flying over the fence into my neighbor's yard. Now they are confined to their 5x10 run except for about 1/2 hour in the evening. I got one of those large Purenna Flock Blocks, about 10 inch square. If I put it in the run with them during the day will they choose that over their pellets to the point of not getting what they need nutrionally?

Some of mine loved the block, others could care less. I wouldn't rely on it to keep your flock on your side of the fence though.

I am sure they will still consume their pellets with no issues.

I actually bought a large flock block but found that my chickens quit eating their layer pellet therefore causing issues with soft eggs. I decided after that to just give them the smaller suet type blocks for birds so it will not affect the quality of their eggs (softness). But the bids do not seem to like the smaller ones so will just stick with their regular treats.

I've had a flock block in my chicken coop for about 2 months now. I didn't want to put it outside, I was afraid about two things: attracting rodents or other non poultry critters and afraid it would get buried in the snow.

I have 33 chickens. That original flock block is only about 1/3 gone. They really liked it the first few days then they forgot about it. A few will nom on it right before bed but that's about it.
