Purple Spot on Comb

Right now there's a purple spot on the back of one of my hen's combs, almost like a bruise color. My other hen has a history of pecking this hen's combs but has been targeting our chicks until recently, when she's been biting her again while they do dust baths. Is this just a bruise from the pecking or is it something I should be concerned about?

It can be normal for the back part or tips of big-combed chickens to have some blueish tint sometimes. It may vary with the weather or even with excitement. It is probably nothing to be concerned about, unless the whole comb becomes blue or cyanotic.

I have a similar issue- the purple part of the comb feels a bit dehydrated and less full than the red areas.
