After the last batch, we took apart our Hovabator 2362n (forced air) for a thorough cleaning. Obviously we didn't think that though all the way because now, as we are trying to put it back together, we've run into a snag (or two).

There are three thin plastic circles. Can't recall where these go. They aren't the thicker ones that go with the fan. There's three of them so I'm inclined to think they go with the thermostat set-up - but I can't fathom where. I don't see any indents in the styrofoam that match.

To compound that, I also have three of the "paperish" wafers that need a home. All the screws holding the fan and heating wire have them already.

Thanks!

Anyone? I have eggs coming later this week and would like to get this set up as soon as possible. I can't find any documentation online, and the "manual" is vague since it came pre-put-together.

I'll call GQF tomorrow but who knows..

When I called the GQF tech people, I had to leave a message, but they called back within a few hours and immediately sent out the part I had that was broken. As long as you don't wait until the last minute, they should be able to help you out.

Good luck!

Those are spacers. There should be 4.

They go on the corner screws for the fan and fit between the fan and the bator. Holds the fan out from the styrofoam 1/4 of an inch.

No, the spacers were thicker. Those have already been installed. There were only 3 of these thinner ones - there is no way any parts went missing when it was taken apart.

5) Place the four fan bolts in the white fiber washers
provided and insert them from the outside in the
newly formaed holes. On the inside of the top place
washers and spacers on the fan bolts followed by the
fan. Orient fan so that the wires exit toward cord set.

Secure fan by attaching nuts to the bolts.

That's what I'm thinking but I can't figure out how to make them "fit". It seems like the strip that holds the heating element was flush against the styrofoam, since there is nice indent where it used to be. Are the spacers between the foam and the metal? If so, why is the foam dented?

Also - there are two screws that hold the heating block in, and three spacers. The middle hole is for that long one that turns the heat up or down.

The metal mounts that hold the heating element are flush against the styrofoam.

I have the exact same model here and if those are not the fan spacers, then I can't find anywhere that they go. I have eggs in mine and just took the top off and went all over it looking.

Sorry.
