With any luck, I will have sold all of my nine-week-old layer hens by the end of the day. That would leave my "packing peanut" of indeterminate breed alone in the makeshift brooder in the horse barn. I really need him out of there. Think he Would he be ok for a couple days in the chicken tractor with the Cornish x Roos that are the same age? They're a pretty mellow crew of Cornish compared to some of the cornish I've been reading about here. They're supposed to be going to freezer camp on Friday, so mystery roo would have the place to himself Thursday night.
Also, has anyone ever processed a standard breed roo at that age? It would just be easier for him to go to freezer camp with the cornish? Would The carcass be good for anything?
