putting chicks under a broody

How far along do broodies have to be for u to b able to put live chicks under them? I have some eggs hatching in 2 weeks and i also have egg orders for another week. i was thinking about letting one of my hens go broody and then putting chicks under her when they hatch. is 1 week far enough along? thahk u

i have rly broody hens if i leave eggs on the nest they usually go broody
