I have ducklings that are 3 weeks old and chickens thay are 3 months (ish).
My plan has always been to put the female ducks in the coop/run with the chickens.
They currently free range "together" all day until the ducks go back into the brooder in the evening. But they dont have anything to do with each other. The chickens just avoid them and the ducks aren't bothered either way.
The dilemma: Im going on a two night trip in 6 weeks and need the ducks to be in the coop with chickens at that point. How do I make this happen? Do I just throw them in the chicken run one day or??

*won't be doing this until ducks are at least 6 weeks, just trying to plan ahead

I put my 2 week ducks outside full time with my 4 week chicks. They are now 6 weeks and doing great! The lowest temp was probably 65-70 degrees at night. When you move them make sure to give them full coverage from wind and extra safety from predators. Ducks are tougher than chicks and can handle colder temps from what I’ve observed.
Even though ducks and chickens aren’t gonna be best buds they put their differences aside when it comes to cuddling at night with eachother to keep eachother warm!
