Putting eggs under hens during last week of incubation

I did post this under the turkey thread but I am also curious to see if anyone has done this successfully with chickens.

I have a broody turkey hen that I got eggs for but only one out of 6 eggs that I bought has made it to the last week of incubation. I have been incubating the eggs inside my house due to extreme heat temps outside and the broody hen has a tendency to smash chicken eggs she steals from my chickens and sits on. I plan to bring the broody hen inside and let her hatch the egg by herself since the egg is due to hatch in 6 days. I do plan to watch her sit on some fake eggs for the first night just to make sure she stays broody and will sit on the egg before giving it to her. Has anyone done anything similar with any problems? I have seen a ton of posts of people that incubate the eggs all the way to hatch then doing the switcheroo with the day old chicks but I can't find anything about putting eggs under hens that were already mostly incubated.

It should work with the exception of moving her.
If turkeys are at all like chickens, she will be very agitated if you move her off her nest. Broodies bond more to the site than to the eggs. She will not sit in the house if that is not where she's been sitting. If you want her to hatch the egg, you should give it to her three days before it's due to hatch where she is currently sitting.
Again, if turkeys are like chickens, a hen will communicate with her chick before it hatches.
