I would like to know, if I decide to put my chickens in a fair do I need any kind of paper work to show what kind they are? Can you put any chicken in? How do I want to say it, like a dog has papers. Do chickens need papers? Thanks

I hope they are not all like ours. Our fair runs from a wed or thurs....til Monday. If you enter any critter in the fair, you must leave it there in the cage the entire time. I could never put any animal through that. (my sister maybe

) I think the animals should only be there one day, the day they are being judged....and thats all.

At our shows you must register 2 or 3 weeks in advance. They give you everything to fill out then. I don't think you need papers seeing as hatchery chicks don't come with them. Mutt chickens generally aren't aloud though, so know your breed.

I have RIRs and RI whites. I do have some mutt chickens. My husband, son and I all pick one. We only had 3 hatch (mutts) and DH said his could win a prise at the fair.

I guess I will have to tell him that he can't put Ben the hen in the fair.

Do they need to be full grown? My chickens were hatched on Easter so they are 11 weeks. The fair is not until the end of September.

How long does it takes for them to be fully grown?
