Puzzling behavior of pullet.

This evening one of my 13 week old pullets started dashing around like something was after it. Running, squawking, like a crazy thing and with it's neck feathers all puffed up and out. Only thing is, nothing was chasing it! It did this about three times. It was really weird. I was able to catch it to check it out, but only because it was running like it was blind and stumbling all over the place, and it ran into the outside of the run. She was holding her mouth open a bit, panting? Maybe. She had access to water, but her usual waterer was closed into the run on accident. I checked her out, she looked okay.I gave her a bit of a dip in my son's wading pool to cool her off and held her for awhile. gave her another bath and closed them all in the run for awhile to watch. She drank after awhile and ate a little. I just haven't seen anything like that.
Could it have been the heat? it was in the 90's here today I think.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Sometimes they get so focused while chasing a moth or small flying insect that they sometimes don't even watch where they're going. Sometimes my girls will start chasing the lead chaser knowing that she sees something they don't, but it means FOOD.
