Has anyone tried using a PVC feeder for turkeys? I've decided to make a separate space from my chickens for my turkeys. I'm thinking of a three-walled shed with a covered run. Since it'll be open with a dirt floor I'd like to try to minimize the rodent buffet. I was thinking of a PVC feeder about a foot off the ground. I've never kept turkeys, just chickens. I know the PVC feeders work well for chickens and really minimizes waste. Thoughts?

I am assuming you want something like below..

Note that the top is closed off. I also suggest that you have an insert-able plug for the bottom. You are trying to control rodent dinners. At night close off since your turkeys are not going to eat then. Also, turkeys have large heads. Make from 6" PVC.

Thanks! That's exactly what I would like to do. I've had PVC feeders for my chickens and I put a cap on the tops just like that. I hadn't thought of a plug for the bottom though. That's a great idea! I could cap feed off when we close everyone up for the night :D
