Quacks all night!!

My duck Dorothy quacks all night! She wakes up my Pyrenees and then he barks and then my rooster starts! Her siblings were killed by a hawks 4 months ago and she has never been friendly! How do I get her to stop?
She probably needs a friend. Ducks don't do well solo, and chickens aren't ducks. She's probably very lonely and looking for her flockmates. My Runner, Figgy, goes into the coop every night and quacks until all of the other ducks have gone to bed.

Also, ducks are still pretty active at night. Mine are often up late, playing in their water buckets.

My runner ducks appear to be night owls, too. No matter what time I take out my dogs, I can hear constant chatter in the duck shelter. There's not a lot of loud quacking, just a constant mumbling among the flock. Maybe they're just checking on one another to make sure everyone is okay?

But, I would agree that having some siblings again might be helpful for her. My ducks are all extremely bonded to each other and travel throughout the day as a single unit -- makes for a lovely parade when the American Buff goose duo decide to roust the runners and march them across the yard.

I'd say lonely too. I'd rec some new friends for her. In the meantime maybe a mirror would help. Having another duck to look at might help till you can get her some friends. Also you might be able to make her more friendly by spending quality time with her and giving out some treats.

Oh, yes! Treats will help!

Awwwww!!!! That sounds so adorable!

I always say that I don't have 4 ducks, I have 1 BIG duck because they are inseparable. They sit and "talk" all the time. They are such gossips! I love listening to their discussions.

But not so much if it made my dog bark all night!
