My quail chicks are currently hatching. I know that I should leave them there until they are dry. I am a little worried about splayed leg, but I am not sure. Right now the two that have hatched so far are tryin to get up but they can’t because the floor is too slippery. Should I be worried?

Looks like splay leg, if you can I believe most dollar stores have little grippy mats that go into kitchen cupboards and drawers that I see some people use in incubators for this reason! :D

I also recommend the grippy mats, or at least some surface that is not slippery. Splay legs has to be corrected early on, and it is better not to make it worse.
Congratulations on your hatch!

Also, if you want to, some people say that your quail will become more tame if you hold them for a few minutes not long after they hatch. Just make sure you don't keep the incubator open for too long, or the humidity will fluctuate. Spend a lot of time with them when they are chicks, picking them up for brief periods, etc. My quail are very skittish!
