I was tired of changing the paper towels for the baby quail twice a day so decided to make a small wire cage to serve as their brooder. It is 18"X22" (think large cookie sheet poop catcher) and currently has "feet" that keep it 2" off of the surface. This will hopefully reduce paper changes to daily. The cage will be repurposed as a breeder pen that should comfortably house a trio or quad. The wire is 1/2" X 1/2" square and 24" wide. There is right at 7' of wire in this cage.
These are week old A&M quail from James/Marie Farm.
EDIT: I've had a couple of questions about the "24" wide". I split the wire in half and the cage is 11.5" tall. Ended up with very little wasted wire when finished.
