Quail bumblefoot no scab

I have a female adult quail, and she has bumblefoot. There is no visible scab, and I’ve recently noticed that the swelling increased. The quail squirms whenever I touch the swelled part, and she often limps. I got the quail 2 months ago from a friend, and the reason that my friend gave it to me for free is because the quail had bumblefoot. I’m not sure what to do right now.

Quail are tough to treat because their feet are small and they don't like being held. I've only had one case but applying ichthammol and vet wrap took care of it. You can use a sock with the toe cut off to immobilize her and have both hands to wrap. Keep her on bedding, not wire.
